Recognizing the importance of experiential learning, our students benefit from educational excursions beyond the classroom. At Disley, we are dedicated to creating a learning environment that goes beyond textbooks, fostering curiosity, and preparing our students for a well-rounded and fulfilling future.

Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint

We recognize the significance of evaluating students’ progress at the culmination of the Cambridge Lower Secondary program. To achieve this, we employ the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint test, specifically designed to assess learners in English, English as a Second Language, Mathematics, and Science. This evaluation serves as a valuable tool, offering comprehensive insights into students’ strengths and areas for improvement before advancing to the next level of education.

Conducted annually in May, our 8th-grade students undertake the test series, providing an external benchmark for their academic achievements. The Checkpoint program focuses on developing essential skills and knowledge in Mathematics, English, and Science, nurturing a well-rounded educational foundation for our students.

The benefits extend beyond assessment, as the Checkpoint Program serves a threefold purpose:

1.Assessment of Learning Progress: The test allows our dedicated educators to assess students’ learning progress, enabling tailored support for individual needs.

2.Global Outlook Development: By participating in the Checkpoint Program, students develop a global outlook, equipping them with the skills and perspectives essential for success in the modern world.

3.Preparation for Future Success: The Checkpoint Program serves as a preparatory step for the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), fostering a global perspective and providing the necessary tools for success in the ever-evolving landscape of education and beyond.
